A centenary celebration fundraising day has further boosted funds for Jennings Motor Group’s chosen charity – the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
The motor dealer group has raised just over £3,000 in a one-day fundraising event after pledging to donate £100 for every new and used car sold, in addition to £15 for every test drive taken on the day.
The £100 donation was to mark Jennings Motor Group’s 100th Anniversary and the additional £15 to represent the number of years GNAAS has been saving lives across the North of England as an independent registered charity.
Staff raised additional cash by organising raffles, as well as coffee and cakes being sold at individual branches across the region.
Nas Khan OBE, managing director of Jennings Motor Group, said; “The fundraising day was a huge success with everyone getting behind the event and raising as much money as possible.”
Grahame Pickering MBE, chief executive of GNAAS, said: “Thanks to everyone involved. This partnership is making a difference to people’s lives, and those who supported this event should be proud of that.”
This is the second consecutive year Jennings Motor Group has agreed to support the GNAAS, and also provide a new motor for the charity’s annual car raffle.
This year, a brand new Kia Sportage 1.6 GDi Level 2 model worth more than £20,000 has been donated from the group’s Stockton and Washington-based Jennings Kia dealerships.
Car raffle tickets are £1 each and can be purchased online by visiting www.greatnorthairambulance.co.uk, or by contacting 01325 487263. The closing date for entries is November 7 2017 and the raffle will be drawn on December 1 2017.
GNAAS operates three helicopters, 365 days a year across its bases at Durham Tees Valley Airport and Lagwathby, new Penrith, Cumbria. Last year it flew to help 826 patients.comments powered by
