Motor dealer group’s fundraising gets off to a flying start with GNAAS
North East-based Jennings Motor Group has pledged its support to the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) for a second consecutive year.
The multi-award winning motor dealer group, which operates Ford, Kia, Mazda, SEAT and Mitsubishi branches, in addition to two Harley-Davidson® dealerships and a SUBWAY® store, pledges its support to a specific charity on an annual basis.

The decision to support the GNAAS for another year came as a result of a unanimous vote by the group’s 524 members of staff, who were given the opportunity to take part in an on-line vote to decide which charity they wanted to support throughout 2017.
Jennings Motor Group’s managing director, Nas Khan OBE, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be supporting the GNAAS for another year. They are an exceptional team of dedicated professionals and it came as no surprise when staff wanted to back the charity for another 12 months.”
To mark the announcement, Nas Khan and his PA, Bev Stephenson, paid a visit to Durham Tees Valley Airport where they got to meet dedicated members of the emergency medical team, as well as the charity’s mascot ‘Miles the Bear’ who made a guest appearance.
Grahame Pickering MBE, chief executive of GNAAS, said: “It’s a tremendous boost to have Jennings Motor Group on board and we are humbled that the staff have once more chosen to support us.
“The money raised last year is already making an impact on people’s lives across the region, and this news will allow us to continue that good work.”
After raising more than £135,000 in last year’s fundraising efforts, which was given an added boost as a result of the company providing a brand new motor for the charity’s annual car raffle, staff across the group are once again fully focused on fundraising - with a number of events having already taken place and many more planned throughout the course of the year.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service provides air ambulance services across the North of England, including the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. The charity operates three helicopters, 365 days a year across its bases at Durham Tees Valley and Langwathby, near Penrith, Cumbria.
