Each year, the motor dealer group which operates Ford, Kia, Mazda, SEAT and Mitsubishi dealerships across the North East and Teesside, in addition to a Harley-Davidson® branch in West Yorkshire, pledges its support to a nominated charity with the aim to raise as much money over the 12-month period.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service provides air ambulance services across the North of England, including the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria.  The charity operates three helicopters, 365 days a year across its bases at Durham Tees Valley and Langwathby, near Penrith, Cumbria.

To kick-start this year’s fundraising, Nas Khan, managing director of Jennings Motor Group and his PA, Bev Stephenson, presented a cheque for £2,000 to Diane Walker, public liaison officer and Mandy Drake, head of fundraising at the GNAAS.

Committed to supporting local communities and charities, Nas Khan said; “We are delighted to be supporting such a worthy charity as the Great North Air Ambulance Service.  They are an exceptional team of dedicated and committed professionals who deliver medical expertise and life-saving aid to patients at the scene of an accident.

“We are very much looking forward to working in partnership with the charity to raise even more funds through a variety of events.”

Grahame Pickering, GNASS chief executive, said: “We couldn’t survive without this kind of support, so we are immensely grateful to Jennings Motor Group for getting behind the charity.  We look forward to working with the team over the next 12 months.”

Last year, the company raised more than £13,000 for local charity Teesside Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care to people suffering from advanced cancer and other life limiting illness.
