Hot on the heels of the unveiling of the new Ford Fiesta at a special launch event in Cologne, images of the latest Ford Fiesta WRC edition have been released. Built by leading specialist M-Sport, it takes advantage of the updated edition of the UK’s best-selling car.

Powered by a 1.6l EcoBoost engine that produces an impressive 380bhp with 332lb of torque, it features a new six-speed gearbox that uses a hydraulic shift that sends drive via a multi-disc clutch to each of the four wheels. Taking full advantage of the new WRC rules regarding aerodynamics, the Ford Fiesta 2017 WRC model includes impressive dive planes, a huge rear wing and a front and rear splitters.
Speaking about the upcoming Ford Fiesta 2017 WRC, Malcolm Wilson owner of M-Sport commented, “Entering a new era in the FIA World Rally Championship, there is a real sense of excitement throughout the team, and rightly so as I believe we have created something extremely special in the new Ford Fiesta WRC”, he added “More than 95% has been designed from scratch and our team has had whatever they’ve wanted to build the best possible car.
