Described as the most aggressive concept car ever, Kia has revealed its latest concept car at the Detroit Motor Show. The GT4 Stinger is a rear wheel drive 2+2 concept car that was designed at the company’s California studio. Jennings Motor Group takes a look.
With the distinctive Kia Tiger Nose Grille, 20 inch alloy wheels and vertical LED headlights, the Stinger is the same length as the Cee’d at 4310mm but significantly lower and wider. Under the bonnet is 311bhp 2.0l turbocharged petrol engine with a 6 speed manual gearbox.
The cabin is minimal with no stereo or carpets – simply rubber mats behind the alloy pedals, light weight doors and slim racing style bucket seats. Developed due to the success of the Kia Optima in the Pirelli World Challenge, the stinger has 270 degree visibility from the driving position due the glasshouse profile. Kia President Tom Loveless added “"Stinger is a tribute to a day when performance about a direct link between driver and machine, not a list of electronic aids."
