Next generation Kia Soul set for debut

The second generation of the Kia Soul is set to be revealed at the upcoming Los Angeles Motor Show.

Featuring a range of new petrol engines and different EV battery capacities, the new Kia Soul will complement the growing Kia SUV offering. It will continue to include the distinctive profile and vertical rear hatchback.

With a key market for the Kia Soul being North America, the new Kia Soul is set to be available in 1.0l and 1.6l petrol and a full electric vehicle options. It is not known yet if this will include a diesel engine. Set to utilise the powertrain of the Kia Niro EV, it is set to be available with the options of 34kWh or 60kWh offering a range of up to 300miles between

Evolutionary styling will include advanced LED technology that is incorporated in the Ultra slim tail-lights. Inside the rejuvenated interior, a ‘floating’ information screen will be available across the range. Spied test pictures seem to show that the wheelbase has been increased in size, possibly leading to improve interior space.

Set to go on sale in the UK in the second half of 2019, the second generation of the Kia Soul has been spied recently undergoing testing. Pictured in the obligatory camouflage at the legendary Nurburgring, the new Kia Soul was thoroughly put through its paces.
