RS2000 spec Ford Escort van up for auction
Posted on 31 Oct 2017
A unique Ford Escort van that has been modified to RS2000 specification is set to be auction in the coming months. Given a rally pedigree by the current owner in 2007, the original 1979 Ford Escort MKII van is based on the legendary Escort MKII RS2000 rally saloon from the 70s.

With an upgrade that took over three years to complete, it was stripped right down and rebuilt. Using a donor RS2000 car, the van now has a rally specification. Powered by a 2.1 l Pinto engine, motorcycle carburettors are used for maximised performance. Painted in Ford Modena Green, it is finished with the iconic Minilite alloy wheels.
Costing over £40,000 to complete the makeover, it is set to go under the hammer with a guide price of between £12,000 and £15,000. With a little over 79,000 miles and in very good condition, it is being sold by Classic Car Auctions in December.
The latest Ford commercial range, including the legendary Ford Transit, is available to view and test drives today at Jennings Ford Transit Centres in Middlesbrough and Gateshead. For further information call 0333 414 9750 to speak to a Ford commercial specialist.
