SEAT launch competition to name all-new SUV
Posted on 02 Jun 2017
Ahead of the launch of an all-new seven seat SUV, SEAT has announced that the public can come up with the name. The only stipulation is that it is named after a location in Spain.
Open from Friday 2 July 2017, anyone can add their idea via the SEAT website. All entries will be shortlisted by SEAT experts before the final options are announced to the public at the Frankfurt Motorshow in September. From the final shortlist the winner will be then selected via public competition.

SEAT has a proud history of naming cars after locations in Spain; Marbella, Ibiza and Leon to name but a few. The all-new award-winning SEAT Ateca is named after a municipality in the province of Zaragoza.
Set to be based on the MQB A2 platform currently shared by the VW Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq, has been announced that it will be ‘designed in Barcelona and made in Germany’ alongside the two models. Commenting on this President and CEO of SEAT Luca de Meo said “Producing the new SUV in Wolfsburg, in the heart of the VW Group, will reinforce the ties between SEAT and Volkswagen”, he added “The Arona and the new SUV are part of SEAT’s plan to go from 50 to 75 per cent of market model coverage in the next year”.
