After passing the criteria set out by SEAT and three rounds that included input from company experts, an industrial and intellectual agency as well as an external naming agency, the All-New SUV will join the SEAT Ateca and soon to be launched SEAT Arona SUVs. Criteria set out included:
Brand Value and product characteristics
Names were selected that fitted with the brand values and characteristics of the large SUV from SEAT that will join the Arona and Ateca.
Ensuring that all finalists were easy to pronounce across SEAT’s global marketplace, the names were put through a specific linguistic verification process. The process included experts from a specialist naming agency.
Each candidate was verified internationally to ensure that they were legally valid and not already registered by other brands. This was verified by the use of a industrial and intellectual property expert.
The next stage is to whittle the list from the existing nine down to a final three using a series of focus groups across many marketplaces. Speaking about the huge popularity of the project Luca de Meo, SEAT President, commented that “the figures speak for themselves. We are very happy with the results of this initiative, which has managed to engage more than 130,000 people from 106 countries and reconnect the brand with Spanish society and fans all over the world, and we would like to thank everyone for participating. The time is fast approaching when we will all know the name of SEAT’s new SUV”.
The finalists will be revealed at a press conference at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 12th September. From then until 25th September 2017, people will be able to vote for their favourite via seat.com/seekingname with the final name revealed before 15th October.
