Ford Fiesta Titanium v Volkswagen Polo SEL
Praising the All-New Ford Fiesta as a “more complete machine”, TopGear.com highlighted that the Titanium model with 123bhp is cheaper at £17,714, while the Volkswagen Polo SEL manual is £18,180. The interior of the All-New Fiesta features a multicolour central data screen compared to the monochrome Polo offering. The All-New Ford Fiesta tested features clever technology including cruise control, anti-crash braking, blind sport recognition, heated seats, heated steering wheels, DAB Radio and heated windscreen.
Ford Fiesta handling
Praising the steering of the All-New Ford Fiesta over the Volkswagen Polo, TopGear.com said “The Ford’s steering has more feedback texture, the shift is sweeter, its own three-pot engine is smoother under load than the VW’s, and it rides – genuinely – like a Jaguar”. The leading motoring website went on to add “Like all great Fords from my lifetime, the Fiesta handles about twenty per cent better than it actually needs to in order to sell by the boatload”.
Winner: All-New Ford Fiesta
Highlighting the improvements that have been made to the latest version of the UK’s best-selling car, the All-New Fiesta came out on top. Commenting on the All-New Ford Fiesta taking the crown TopGear.com said “The Ford edges the victory for us, because it’s more rounded” and added “VW is powerless to match the Fiesta’s sheer verve”.
