Hi, I have a ford focus 1.6 petrol from 2000. The handbrake warning light has been staying on after the handbrake has been released and then flickering going off a short time later. This doesn't happen every time the handbrake is released, just sometimes.
The performance of the brakes does not appear reduced, and I have checked the brake fluid level which seems ok (about half way between max and min markers), I was wondering how to check the brakes for wear, and also what could be causing this fault.
top up the fluid to the max. to check the wear on the brakes remove the wheels and check the pads thickness
