Should my car be consuming a litre of oil in 1,000 miles? Everything else seems fine and it is regularly serviced.
Every engine can use oil, some more than others due to type of engine design. 1 litre of oil is a little excessive and could be caused by an external leak or worn engine components i.e. valve stem oil seal wear, piston oil scraper rings.
