Pedestrian and Cyclist detection

Detecting pedestrians and cyclists ahead and warning the driver of their presence, the Ford technology uses radar and cameras to identify movement before alerting the driver to their presence. Reducing the severity of potential accidents and helping to avoid them also, the system gives the driver chance to apply the brakes before they are automatically activated.

Collecting and processing the information, it is checked against a database of pedestrian and cyclist shapes to help distinguish these from other roadside objects and scenery to identify potential danger.
