MAZDA Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic

Mazda Blind Spot Monitoring System uses radars mounted to the rear bumper of the vehicle which identifies vehicles in your blind spot as well as those to your rear, in adjacent lanes. This helps to prevent potential collisions and accidents by signalling an icon in the appropriate driver wing mirror, and a warning beep is sounded to ensure the system has the driver’s attention.

Another similar feature of the Mazda safety technology is Rear Cross Traffic Alert working in conjunction with the Blind Spot Monitor, RCT detects vehicles to your rear when you’re moving from a stationary position, such as reversing from a parking space. This feature identifies vehicles coming from both directions to ensure you’re aware of any potential hazards, this is done using the same rear bumper sensors as the BSM, making the process simple and easy to understand.
